St. John’s Vestry

  • Mike Spring, Sr. Warden, Music and Worship Chair, Class of 2027

My parents were attending St. John’s in 1971 when I was visiting from grad school. I was married there. All three of my sons were baptized there. Dad and I were the first father/son Senior Wardens (the head of the church government. Both my mom and my wife were offered the job; both were too smart to take it)

St. John’s has always welcomed everyone. We are brothers and sisters, and our family wants to include you.

  • Grace McPhillips Lunsford, Marketing Chair and Youth Ministry Chair, Class of 2028

After the "pandemic church break", I looked online to see about St. John's for an easter return.  My parents were ill and under my care in addition to having three little ones.  SJEC met our needs gently and with holy respect.  My husband and I have been able to contribute musically, and I helped create a children's community choir, CPKidsChoir.org, supported by the church. The experience helped me offer my leadership to serve the greater parish, and I have no regrets.  It's good to be needed and I want to serve in a church that needs it's parishioner's talents.

  • Emily Boyle, Clerk, Class of 2028

I found St. John’s in 2022 after moving to the Tri-Cities and quickly discovered a church that feels like home. I want to help our parish remain rooted in integrity and community so that anyone seeking comfort, worship, or belonging can find it here.

  • Paul Brady, Jr. Warden

As a College Park native with a long history with St. John’s, my family has served the church on the Vestry, choir, lay readers, and altar guild among other contributions. with 13 prior years of service on the vestry, I am glad to step back onto the vestry with the support of my wife Suzanne, who is also much at home in the fellowship of St. John’s.

  • Nancy Bush, Altar and Flower Guild

I am very excited to return to a town and to a church that have held such a huge part of my heart for so many years. I look forward to worshiping at St. John’s and seeing the church continue to grow through the leadership of Fr. Alex and the vigorous stewardship of the Vestry.

  • Austin Shelton, Buildings & Grounds Chair

My family and I came to St. John’s in 2023 after several years of searching for a new church home. St. John’s embraced us with open arms, providing a safe and welcoming place for us to continue to grow spiritually. I have been inspired by our new church family and its commitment to preaching and practicing compassion, justice, and service to its members and the community. I look forward to helping continue that mission in whatever way I can.
